Classic Italian Tiramisu

Indulge in the timeless elegance of Tiramisu, a rich and creamy Italian dessert made with layers of coffee-soaked biscuits, silky mascarpone cream, and a dusting of cocoa. Perfect for any special occasion or simply as a luxurious treat!

Ingredients

  • 500 g Mascarpone
  • 5 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 5 eggs (separated)
  • 2 small shots of Amaretto
  • 1 cup of strong black coffee
  • 1 bag of pastry biscuits (Savoiardi or ladyfingers)
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Procedure

  1. Prepare the mascarpone cream:
    • Beat the egg yolks with sugar until light and fluffy.
    • In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
    • Gently fold the mascarpone into the yolk mixture, then carefully fold in the egg whites to maintain a light and airy texture.
  2. Assemble the layers:
    • Mix the strong black coffee with Amaretto in a shallow dish.
    • Quickly dip each biscuit into the coffee mixture (avoid soaking too long to prevent sogginess).
    • Layer the dipped biscuits in a serving dish.
    • Spread a layer of mascarpone cream over the biscuits.
    • Repeat the process, finishing with a layer of mascarpone cream.
  3. Final touch:
    • Generously dust with cocoa powder for an authentic finish.
    • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) to allow the flavors to blend beautifully.

Final Tip

For an extra decadent twist, sprinkle the top with chocolate shavings or serve with a drizzle of espresso syrup.
